If you’re not familiar with SEO, this means Search Engine Optimization. This is essentially the process of improving a website’s visibility in search engines such as Google. The idea is that the more visible you are (aka the higher you rank in search results), the more traffic your website receives. The more traffic coming to a website will often lead to more leads and clients.
Now that I’ve broken that down, let’s take a look at how we were able to achieve this for LG’s Magical Affairs.
The Challenge
LG’s Magical Affairs is a wedding and event catering company located in Douglasville, Georgia, which is in the Greater Atlanta Area. The company has been in business for a few years, and had a newly revamped website design, but zero traffic and online leads. The goal was to increase their online leads and shift the balance of leads mainly coming from referrals.
The Process
Over the course of 3 months, LG’s Magical Affairs worked with The Event Certificate team to optimize their existing website, with a focus on SEO, traffic, and conversion content. This meant focusing on keyword research based on their target clients and competitors in the Greater Atlanta Area.
LG’s Magical Affairs website was newly redesigned, hence the focus was on optimizing their pages, blogs, and off-page SEO. An emphasis was placed on helpful content targeting frequently asked questions by ideal clients in their location.
As a local business, we also focused on creating and optimizing their Google Business Profile (GBP). At the time of the project, their GBP was unverified and blocked by Google. We worked on getting the listed verified and unblocked, which was a crucial step for local traffic and showing up on the maps for potential catering clients.

These changes led to an increase in traffic to the website consistently over the 3 months. However, the most significant change is their #1 position placement on Google Maps for their city, and showing up for keywords such as “catering” and “wedding caterer”.
What We Learned
LG’s Magical Affairs saw the most success from their Google Business Listing update, and traffic to their conversion-focused blogs. They were also able to gain a competitive spot in search results where they previously did not rank. While having a website is a great step in online visibility, the content on your site is even more important. Being in a competitive city meant targeting had to be well-researched and specific. Blogs content was written to focus on their ideal client’s questions.
